Trump in charge of the imperial octopus

Trump in front of the imperial octopus

US imperialism is an octopus that creates more and more tentacles to cover everything it can in pursuit of expansion and domination of territories and key areas to control and subjugate a growing number of governments and peoples.

Donald Trump has decided to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico (located east of Mexico, southeast of the United States and west of Cuba with an area of 1.6 million km², in clear violation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea between the United States, Mexico, the United States and Cuba, and Mexico and Cuba; and the delimitations of this maritime region established by the International Hydraulic Organization (IHO).

Other areas that Trump wants to appropriate are Greenland, currently the territory of Denmark, and the Panama Canal, which after 1977, under the Torrijos-Carter Treaty, became the property of the Central American country.

Finally, Trump has declared that the Gaza Strip will be owned by the USA, a proposal accepted by the Israeli President, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Evidently this political approach leads to maneuvers by US imperialism, now represented by Donald Trump, to expand its geopolitical influence and its control over important sea lanes, natural resources, especially oil and natural gas.

When the octopus squeezes its tentacles the victim suffocates and dies. This is how the mechanisms of imperial domination work, well known for their permanent presence in the relations of the empire with the rest of the world.

The international response has not been long in coming. Dignified peoples and defenders of the rights to sovereignty and independence reject these unilateral decisions in violation of the laws that establish respect among peoples.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, Palestinian Minister of Information has categorically rejected any Israeli or American occupation. Meanwhile, Lula Da Silva, President of Brazil, stated that Gaza must be taken care of by the Palestinians, and rebuilt so that they can once again have homes, schools, and hospitals.

The Chinese Foreign Minister expressed his country’s rejection of the occupation of Gaza and the displacement of its people from their homes, and its support for a peaceful solution based on the coexistence of two states, which would contribute to a lasting peace in the Middle East.
