President of Cuba analyzes electricity generation situation

Havana, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today analyzed the situation of electricity generation in Cuba, which in recent weeks has been complicated due to different factors.

In the sixth episode of the program From the Presidency, published on the Cuban government’s YouTube channel, the president discussed the issue with the general director of Unión Eléctrica, Alfredo López, and the technical director of that entity, Lázaro Guerra.

Electricity generation has been recently affected in the country, among other factors, with the shutdown of some of its thermoelectric power plants due to scheduled maintenance or breakdowns, which forced scheduled blackouts.
