The morning of Tuesday, October 8 was different for boys and girls who are in the first grade at the Rafael López Fonseca rural educational institution, a school located in the district of Pueblo Nuevo in the municipality of Contramaestre.
Here, twelve students received from their parents and relatives the blue school scarf. This garment identifies them from now on as Moncadista pioneers.
From this moment on, the pioneers will know and have the duty to comply with the commitment of student duties, the participation in extracurricular activities, the sense of relevance, the implementation of formal education and the love for the homeland.
The ceremony was attended by relatives of the students who study there as well as neighbors of the community. The anniversary of the assassination of Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was also remembered, a date that marks the beginning of the Camilo-Che jornada.
At the end of the activity pioneers of the educational center deposited a flower to the Apostle and to these two historical figures of the Cuban revolution that every year homage is paid to them in the tenth month of the year.
