A life dedicated to the Party and the will to keep on winning

In our society and in our Party a principle must prevail: merit, capacity, modesty, said the Commander in Chief at the closing ceremony of the First Congress of the Party organization. And with that modesty, 20 cadres and 81 workers of the Central Committee of the Party received a heartfelt recognition for the valuable years of their lives that, uninterruptedly, they have devoted to the vanguard organization of the Cuban society.

The ceremony was attended by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the CC PCC, Roberto Morales Ojeda, the Commander of the Rebel Army José Ramón Machado Ventura and other members of the Secretariat and Heads of Departments of the Central Committee.

Ana Isa Delgado Jardines, official of the Economic and Productive Department was recognized for her 30 years of work in the Party and pronounced the words on behalf of the honorees. Delgado Jardines expressed her satisfaction for the opportunity to serve, from the work of the Party, the Revolution and the people. He also assured that this is a propitious place for love, sacrifice where one comes to give time, heart and life.

One of those recognized was Olga Averhoff Espinosa, who full of emotion commented on the significance of this recognition for her 55 years of constant work in the organization. “To the young people who begin their working life in the Party, I tell them that this is the best award they can receive, because they will be formed as good people, capable of helping the country and humanity,” she said.

“Our first thought is for the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, founder of the Central Committee and for the brothers who have fallen in these years of revolutionary struggle”, expressed Omar Pérez Salomón, recognized for his 30 years linked to the work of the organization. Pérez Salomón also referred that it is an honor to have accompanied the historical leadership of the Revolution and to continue, at this moment, under the guidance of First Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in the different combats and battles that are being fought today.

Strengthening the revolutionary consciousness and advancing in the development of the productive forces are, in the opinion of Omar Pérez Salomón, some of the challenges of the Party.
Floro Ochoa Pérez, another of the honorees, accumulates five lustrums in the work of the political vanguard of the Cuban nation. According to him, his time in the Party has served, in a very practical way, to unite our people in facing every challenge.

The central words of the act were pronounced by the member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and Head of its Agro-alimentary Department. During his speech, Monteagudo highlighted the determined and self-sacrificing work of the 20 cadres and 81 workers of the Central Committee who for 5, 10, 15, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55 years have devoted part of their lives to the work of the leading political force of Cuban society and their contribution to the advancement of the work of the Revolution.
“Being a cadre and worker of the Party entails a great responsibility and commitment with the Homeland, the Revolution and our people” affirmed Monteagudo Ruiz who assured that in the revolutionary ideology, unity and in the work of the Revolution and Socialism our capacity of resistance and victory is sustained.
