Economists in Contramaestre towards their 9th Congress

In Contramaestre, the members of the Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC) are celebrating their day ahead of the Ninth Congress of this organization in honor of Ernesto Che Guevara, who on the same date in 1959 was appointed by the Revolutionary Government as president of the National Bank of Cuba.

Committed to this celebration, the economistsof Contramaestre undertook a broad program of activities in charge of its 43 grassroots organizations and 470 affiliates in total, in order to demonstrate in the midst of the updating of the Cuban social economic model a greater role in favor of development, and thus ratify their conviction that a “Better World is Possible”, in the face of the challenges posed by the genocidal and intensified blockade of the U.S. government against the island.

Among the actions carried out by ANEC members in this territory to mark November 26, the meetings aimed at increasing the efficiency needed in the business sector, with the participation of young university students and graduates of economics, accounting and related engineering careers, and with experienced professionals in the field, dealing with issues such as cost analysis, accounting services and credit policies, among others, stand out.

As part of the tasks carried out, the economists in Contramaestre also successfully carried out the Ninth Congress of its organization, achieving a participation of more than 95 percent of the membership and leaving 19 proposals for actions, initiatives and solutions that with scientific rigor will contribute to the transformation of the economy, particularly in the branches that aim to increase productive lines of the agricultural sector, the main source of development in this part of eastern Cuba.

The training actions were also taken into account at this stage by the Economists and Accountants of this municipality, reaching agricultural structures, business and budget sectors, non-state workers: especially bookkeepers, collectors-payers and business entrepreneurs: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed workers.

In this area, tax obligations, simplified accounting, economic contracting, prices and cost sheets were some of the subjects taught by ANEC to both natural and legal persons, to provide them with better knowledge and conditions for their future work.

Economists in Contramaestre to support frameworks

Also, in the framework of the celebrations for November 26, another of the proposals promoted by the economists of Contramaestre, and that will have its culmination in the framework of the activities that are developed here prior to the Municipal Assembly Ninth Congress of the organization, will be the scientific-political event, for which 15 papers are registered with proposals for actions, initiatives and solutions with a recognized scientific and professional rigor that will contribute to the transformations that are introduced to the Cuban economy and to accompany the progress of the Local Development projects.

About the work that still remains to be perfected in ANEC of Contramaestre, according to Rafael Cala Machiran, president of its Municipal Executive Council, “the need to test a greater protagonism by the base sections in its radius of action and, in particular, in those entities with insufficient results in the internal control and economic closings is raised”.
Cala Machiran, on this occasion, considered it necessary to call for “greater collaboration of economic science professionals with the units involved in the presentation or initiation of local development and foreign investment projects”.

In Contramaestre, the Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba, ANEC, arrives at this November 26 with more than 400 affiliates inserted in the different economic sectors of the territory, and with 6 grassroots organizations that enjoy the status of National Vanguard. It also has 12 grassroots sections accredited as Provincial Vanguards and with the great satisfaction of ratifying for 17 consecutive years the status of National Vanguard in the annual emulation of the organization.

With these results and convinced that in difficult times, greater protagonism is demanded, Rafael Cala ratified that the preparations for the Ninth Municipal Assembly Congress, to be held next December 16, are ready.
