The second edition of the forum for innovation, which tributes to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) as rector, took place in Contramaestre with the evaluation of initiatives and projects of different entities of the municipality.
The debate was chaired by José Alejandro Zapata Balanqué, territorial delegate of CITMA; Caridad Moncada Sánchez, sub-delegate of Science and Innovation; Yadira Roque Arias, belonging to the provincial CITMA, and Enedita Rosabal Fajardo, municipal specialist of CITMA.
Through the presentation of 14 papers, the innovative activity of the municipality in recent months, aimed at guaranteeing services and benefits that are affected by technical difficulties, was made known. These initiatives contribute to the saving of considerable economic resources, in addition to the optimization of various productive tasks.
The meeting was favorable to promote the productive chaining in the territory, and to highlight the role of the companies and other entities in the local development of the territory. In this regard, Caridad Moncada Sánchez, Deputy Delegate for Science of CITMA’s territorial delegation in Santiago de Cuba, commented that “the priority is to promote long-term sustainable development through science and innovation”.
In the midst of a complex economic scenario, the application of science in innovative projects, promoted through innovation forums, is a step forward to guarantee vital goods and services to the population.
