In the Caravan of Freedom, expression of a journey of a country for a dream, they distinguished happy young rebels after the victorious January, faces of strong passions, of singular gait that never imagined that they would become sacred poets of history.
In that emblematic Caravan was an invisible poet, dressed in olive green, Raul Gomez Garcia, who shook with his pen to write and say loudly: “We are already in Combat”.
The history of Moncada keeps carefully the rubric with his generous blood, the noble smile of a rebel fighter who carried in his heart the doctrines of the Master, to express through poems, the essence of a heroic struggle of an oppressed Cuba.
Beautiful verses of pure feelings, of renewing hopes, verses coming from the soul to shoot bursts of love and commitment, sprouted from the lively intellect to capture on paper with indelible ink the vision of the Homeland, to write poems of cries of freedom, of unwavering firmness.
Today the fertile work of Raul Gomez Garcia, shines in the army of men and women of culture who admire and respect the impeccable leadership and courage of a mortal who devoted his early youth to preserve the ideas of those who spoke out for a fight to reissue the Heroism of Maceo, the sweet memory of Marti.
