The Comandante Manuel Fajardo Rivero Pre-University Institute, located in the Popular Council of Baire, municipality of Contramaestre, opened its doors this September 2 to a total of 202 students to begin the 2024-2025 school year.
The main objectives of the institution for this school year are focused on the integral preparation of the students with a view to their insertion in university education, as stated by Claribel Pereira Gonzáles, Director of the pre-university. In achieving this objective, differentiated training in the prioritized subjects is key, even as early as tenth grade.
In addition to the dedication of the students, the work of teachers and coaches of Mathematics, Spanish and History is decisive in achieving the expected results. Jesulina Cobas Ramírez, Spanish Literature teacher, comments that the teaching plan for the new school year includes activities in the afternoons and on Saturdays, in addition to carrying out knowledge diagnostics and syllabi.
As part of the vocational training activities, the IPU Comandante Manuel Fajardo is prioritizing the incorporation of students to the pedagogical colleges, in order to increase the number of professors and teachers in the coming years, contributing to meet the demands of the territory.
With new challenges and great enthusiasm, higher secondary education in Baire has proposed the development of a 2024-2025 course with positive academic results and an integral formation for students of all grades. The joint work of students, teachers and the family, figure as the key to success in achieving the proposed goals and perfecting the teaching-educational activities of this institution.
