A profession amidst numbers

A profession amidst numbers

Learning to know how to read the feeling that lives in numbers is the mission of men and women grouped together in a statistical system, of human beings accustomed to collecting data and transforming them into numbers.

This force is jealous of numerical symbols, discreet in its publications, and most of the time, anonymous in its analysis, and its vocation is to demand the application of state policy in the field of statistics and information.

Our country needs the work of these statistical workers, who always count and who are paid tribute to every September 6, thanks to the First Population and Housing Census in the years of the Revolution.

The guild, in love with economic, social, environmental, production and services, as well as population information, facilitates the evaluation of public policies and decision making for the country’s top management.

On the day that honors the most complete and important statistical research for Cuba, José Martí revives the homage, admiration and undying respect to those men and women; he raises the attitude of mortals in the service of the nation.

“Because statistics in Cuba has to go in such a way that it looks like a novel and leaves the reader captivated and convinced of its power”, said the Apostle José Martí.
