There is no one like these farmers to embrace the most authentic traditions and preserve the rural culture of the Cuban nation. In their daily life are mixed the hope and longing for freedom and prosperity that for centuries cradled the founding fathers of the homeland.
In that connection that the man and woman of the countryside establish with the furrow, is the genesis of that Marti’s light that “the land is the great mother of fortune”.
For them, who welcome the sun by tilling the fields, the struggle against climate change and the lack of material resources is permanent. But nothing makes them give up what they do best.
For Cuban peasants, who have owned the land they work since May 17, 1959, it is not only about tradition and culture, but also about the opportunity to escape poverty, increase their income and improve food security.
With the same strength with which they sprout the seeds they planted yesterday, they get up every day for the urgent task of multiplying the fruits of their honest work.
