Where flowers, love and respect are never missing

Where flowers, love and respect are never missing

On the hill of La Esperanza there is never a lack of flowers, love and respect. The stoic mountains of the Sierra Maestra venerate the Father of exquisite sensitivity and his comrades in struggle.

It is in those hills of the Third Eastern Front, where Juan Almeida rises to contemplate a people capable of safeguarding the sovereignty that they forged, as the best offering.

The brightness today is more immense in the families that are grateful for the presence of Column No. 3 under the leadership of Almeida by orders of Fidel to reverse illiteracy, unhealthiness, to distribute justice and freedom.

From that emblematic height, bearded rebels with their people’s Commander, swear to remain faithful to that insurrectional enclave, where the phrase “No one surrenders here” remains to hold the captive gaze of children and visitors.

From the Mausoleum, which treasures La Esperanza, the symbolism of rebellion and courage inscribed by its Heroes and martyrs, rises to the mountains transformed by the Revolution; it invites to the present and future by the immortal memory of a guerrilla front that gave opportunities for the good of humanity.

The light of the infinite flame evokes the fearlessness of those combatants who exchanged the forced silence of misery for the noise of arms towards emancipation, to see instruction, work and progress flourish.

“The bodies of the martyrs are the most beautiful altar of honor”, is the Marti’s thought that accompanies the footprint of the mortal soldiers who gave their lives to plant schools, hospitals and other works of common good in the hillsides.

In complicity with history, the green palm trees of the sacred place, stand firm, as an expression of permanence and gratitude, as respect for the shed blood of men who fought for a Third Eastern Front, which today contemplates the true freedom of the homeland.

Juan Almeida looks at his people and retires in silence, satisfied with the fulfilled duty, he knows that the continuity follows and will follow his steps, so that children, young people and adults embrace new dawns that left behind the darkness to see the light shining.
