Contramaestre appreciates Ministry of the Interior's hard work

Contramaestre, a municipality in the province of Santiago de Cuba, celebrated in advance the 62nd anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), a body that was created on June 6, 1961 to defend the nascent Cuban Revolution from numerous enemy plans to destroy it.

The ceremony was attended by a group of combatants representing this battalion that day by day gives its best so that our streets and parks continue with the usual tranquility, and where children and young people can enjoy the benefits of our society.

During the ceremony, Major Inaisis Nuñez Macias, MININT Chief of Staff in Contramaestre, read out the Order of Decoration and Promotion to the next higher rank to a group of combatants deserving of such incentives in recognition of their work in the prevention and confrontation of the enemy and criminal activities of all kinds.

Contramaestre MININT officers awarded

In the presence of José Angel Labrada Castillo, First Secretary of the (Communist) Party in the municipality and First Colonel Julián Sánchez Álvarez, Chief of the MININT in the province of Santiago de Cuba, medals for 10, 15 and 20 years of distinguished service were also awarded to a group of combatants for their exemplary attitude, recognizing their contribution to maintaining public tranquility and internal order.

Geudis Gonzáles Góngora, Secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, CTC, in Contramaestre in the closing remarks of the ceremony highlighted the countless feats of the combatants of this Ministry, which has become the shield of the Cuban nation, congratulated them and exhorted them to continue developing their work and to face together with the factors and the people the criminal manifestations.
