The adversities families in Contramaestre family are facing in 2022, derived from the intensification of the genocidal U.S. blockade against Cuba, the Covid-19, natural events, and the struggle for the eradication of the Aedes Aegypti, have not minimized in any way the spirit of the residents, who know how to defend the Cuban Revolution from their neighborhoods.
“In Contramaestre, the more than 80 thousand members of the largest mass organization in the country, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), in this difficult period we have been able to face the limitations that have an impact on the life and daily life of the people, fulfilling with loyalty the tasks committed to not lose the condition of Outstanding municipality”. This is what Leonardo Martínez Sabigne, the top CDR leader in Contramaestre, told us.
What actions have received the greatest political and social boost from the membership of this organization here?
“This cederista year 2022, we value it well and with positive results in our work. Even when we face a deficit of professional cadres in the organization, we managed to overcome this aspect and to undertake all the tasks: fulfilling the contribution to the Homeland at 105 percent, the contribution at 63.6 percent, collecting more than 154,600 pesos and we hope to arrive at September 28 with 80 percent in our contribution to the organization. In addition, the solidarity and humanistic gesture of the voluntary blood donors made it possible for us to contribute more than 900 extractions to date.”
How does the cederista action in defense of the work of the Revolution manifest itself?
“Our cadres and revolutionary people of Contramaestre are convinced of the need to be well strengthened with revolutionary vigilance and to be more active in the struggle against internal and external political subversion that tries to undermine our Revolution. Hence we have a cederista action in the 1,424 grassroots organizations that the municipality has, to permanently defend this work bequeathed to us by Fidel Castro, the architect of the CDR in 1960.” We have a strong potential of revolutionary activists in the social networks, who are the cyber-combatants, who with the truth respond to every endeavor of the Homeland.”
In this stage of work, in Contramaestre, the 214 zones that the massive organization has, have become the heart of the neighborhoods and communities, without yielding one bit in their mission of being guarantors of the Revolution and the principles of freedom, equality and social justice.
In what other directions are the cederista members of this territory committed?
“Going to any call of the Revolution. To serve as messengers to vulnerable people, to help pregnant women, the elderly and the physically disabled in any situation. The contribution of the Contramaestre CDRs in the fight for the eradication of the agent transmitting Dengue is very significant, going to the cleaning of communities, wastelands, drains and ditches, as well as in the collaboration with the personnel of the antivectorial campaign, of Public Health and Communal Services”.
Journalist: How do the CDRs of Contramaestre expect to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of their organization this September 28th?
Leonardo Martínez S: “Another celebration to ratify the unavoidable commitment to continue defending the Revolution from the community. Our aspiration is to arrive at such significant date reaching the condition of Municipal vanguard in the cederista work”.
