After two years of presence in cyberspace as a valuable e-government platform, Contramaestre‘s Citizen Portal is registered as the most attractive and visited among its peers in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
The interview with Héctor César Domínguez Áreas, communicator of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, allows us to reveal that the referent Web page is easy to visit, to know its services and to interact, all through the address: www.contramaestre.gob.cu
How does this digital platform contribute to dynamize the life of the inhabitants of this territory?
“As a product offered by the electronic government, it allows a more intimate interaction among the population, government officials and leaders. It carries the clear, precise and truthful immediacy of the main historical, social, economic and cultural events of the municipality, with the participation of communicators from institutions such as: Joven Club, Directorate of Culture, Health, and Education, among others. The communicators of the popular councils of Baire, Maffo-Moscu and Los Negros districts are also present in the taxation of contents”.
What contents does the Contramaestre Citizen’s Portal generate, in order to achieve impacts on the cybernauts?
“In addition to having a domain easily accessible through Google, we have sections that include: procedures and services, government policy and the reception of complaints and concerns of the population, to which immediate and dear attention is offered by the vice intendancies of the Municipal Administration and by the institutions to which the issues that are received both in person and online fall under. In the midst of the current energy contingency that the country, province and municipality are going through, the population of Contramaestre receives through this platform updated information about such a sensitive issue. This is one of the issues that has been triggering a high visibility and interaction with this website”.
As an e-government platform, what are its most significant results in the local geography environment?
“Last June 25, we celebrated the second anniversary of the publication of this Portal. Its creation is the work of the Territorial Center of Information Technology Services, (DESOFT), of Contramaestre, and especially of its author, Lenier Igarza del Toro, specialist B in Computer Science in this company”.
“In the month of June 2022 we have reached a figure of over 21 thousand visits, averaging more than 800 daily and an accumulated figure of over 117 thousand, which shows that in the field of interaction with the public we are on the road towards the consolidation of digital work within the work of government management. It is also a reliable expression of the expectations and facilities to make life more dynamic, thanks to the gradual process of the informatization of society”.
Continuing to demonstrate superior interactivity requires other challenges, which ones have been identified?
