Igalia Cooperation Project

Igalia Spanish Cooperation Project

The technology company Igalia, headquartered in A Coruña, has been collaborating with UNICEF continuously for 17 years.

During 2023 and 2024, Igalia collaborated on the development cooperation project, “Casitas Infantiles” (Children’s Homes): contributing to the comprehensive development of early childhood, work-life balance, and shared responsibility in Cuba. The project’s objective is to increase early childhood education coverage in Holguín, Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba, and Granma, promoting the participation of mothers, fathers, and families in parenting training programs on positive methods of education and responsible parenting, aimed at overcoming gender stereotypes associated with raising children.

In 2022, the technology company reinforced its commitment to children by supporting a project to improve access to water, hygiene, and sanitation in 12 rural schools in the eastern region of Burkina Faso.

Furthermore, it collaborated in the emergency response in Ukraine and was involved in COVAX, the global mechanism for the equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, which Igalia had already supported in 2020 and 2021.

Since 2020, Igalia has also been committed to providing flexible funding for children, enabling UNICEF to address children’s most pressing needs, where and when they are most needed.

Between 2010 and 2019, this partner contributed to children’s education in Africa through the UNICEF SMEs Friends program.
