In Contramaestre: territorial contribution in favour of local development actions


In Contramaestre as part of the requirements of the Budget 2025, the collection of revenue from the One percent Territorial Contribution has an impact on both social actions and economic-project resources, endogenous potential, and the generation of new income.

In this eastern jurisdiction of Cuba, at the end of the first six months of the current fiscal year, financial revenues in excess of 11 million pesos are obtained from the obligation to contract companies, cooperatives, establishments, and mercantile companies of Cuban capital to honor the tax on the territorial contribution from the fulfillment of its social object and the scope in its results.

Of the total referred to in that period, 85 per cent of the value collected for this tax is managed to be executed by the Contramaestre, to promote local development projects from the autonomy of the municipal government for decision making with financial support towards actions that solve certain problems and needs of the population.

As part of the project at the local level, more than four million pesos have been allocated to promote the Granos-Fríjol project, from which eight communities will benefit to achieve food sovereignty in this area; that in recent years it has been affected by rising prices on the external market, affecting supplies required for the family general basics.

On the other hand and as a result of the values collected under the Territorial Contribution, nine demarcations of the municipality, mostly located in rural and mountain areas, will be favoured by constructive improvement actions in the homes through subsidies for the purchase of materials and resources essential for these needs, giving priority to mothers with three or more children under the age of 18.
