After a well-deserved week’s break, Cuban students are once again going back to class to resume the learning process. Parents and teachers combine their efforts to guarantee the continuation of the educational teaching process in this complex panorama that the Cuban people are going through, where the US blockade is the main obstacle in its path, the main culprit of these shortages and the increase of needs.
Even so, the school year continues to develop with those same old textbooks, repaired over and over again, with those small pencils skillfully tied or embedded in pen parts, with notebooks made from recycled sheets to keep the class.
Classes despite the odd conditions
on Our children will attend classes with their uniforms clean, combed and hygienic. They will not all have a beautiful backpack but they will not stop bringing their materials to school, some will wear the old shoes of the older brother but they will continue to attend their classes, they will continue to their free education.
Guaranteeing them food is a challenge, today we unite as a country to achieve it, we produce in the backyards and we contribute, the agricultural structures deliver their part, the new economic forms also support and little by little the indispensable is guaranteed. Nobody should think that it is easy, the blockade is making it more and more difficult, but Cuba, its educators and its people show that nothing will stop us in this effort to guarantee the education of the men and women of the future.
