The eight childcare centers in the municipality of Contramaestre welcome children from different areas of the territory, ensuring their well-being and care, as well as providing a wide range of educational activities that significantly contribute to their development. The 1,100 children enrolled in these educational institutions represent more than 990 working mothers from various sectors and backgrounds.
Regarding the importance of these centers for families in Contramaestre, Yanila Fajardo Pérez, Head of the Early Childhood Department in the municipality, stated that “these are invaluable institutions that provide care for the educational needs of the youngest children and benefit working mothers by offering childcare during their workday.”
The Master of Science also clarified that the childcare centers in the area currently have the necessary conditions for their operation, in terms of teacher coverage and other staff who support the tasks of each center.
An example of this is the January 28th Children’s Center, located in the municipal capital, where teaching and educational activities revolve around an integrated learning approach, useful for later education, as explained by Onelia Reyes Núñez, the center’s director.
Both educators, with extensive experience working with early childhood, agree on the need to carry out their assigned tasks with enthusiasm and sensitivity towards the children, since in these early years of life every experience is fundamental for later development.
Amidst the celebrations for another anniversary of their founding, the children’s centers of Contramaestre reaffirm their commitment to the children of the region and are working to maintain the results achieved in previous years.
