The heavy rains recorded in recent hours in the eastern zone did not cause any damage of interest in the municipality of Contramaestre, which instead benefited from the agricultural sector and the accumulation of water.
The most significant value of rain in the last 48 hours was 137 millimeters and yesterday fell on the territory only 12 millimeters.
This was corroborated by the First Secretary of the Party in the territory, Yoendry Oconor Reyes, and the Mayor, Karel Vázques López.
In the productive area of Bungo they checked the state of the plantations, where rainfall was lower than in the rest of the municipality. In the development area Las Veguitas appreciated the preservation of land cultivated with yucca, corn, bananas and sweet potatoes.
The Contramaestrense authorities also visited educational and health institutions such as the maternal home in the city where they learned about the living conditions and insurance of pregnant women.
In the horizontal repumping stations of water to the city of Santiago de Cuba Mogote One and Two, they learned about the state of the installations and equipment, which work properly sending 780 liters per second to the provincial head.
At a meeting of the Temporary Working Group for disaster situations, it was stated that the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes dam accumulated three million cubic meters of water in the last 48 hours, reaching a total volume of 164.3 million, with 67 percent filling.
Following the indications of the higher level Contramaestre did not start on Monday the school week, work is being done on two electrical assignments and the main efforts are directed to ensure basic services to the population.
