Education, Sports, and Energy Matrix Change Stand Out in Contramaestre in the First Half of the Year

The education, health, and sports sectors stood out in the first half of the year in the municipality of Contramaestre, due to the introduction of alternatives that provided material resources and positioned them to achieve better results than in the same period of the previous year. The change in the energy matrix was another priority that received careful attention in the first six months of the year in the Santiago province.

With the first half of the year over, Contramaestre is experiencing improved organization of work across its six sports complexes, with an increase in the number of athletes participating in national and international competitions, as well as in high-performance centers.

Education closes the first half of the year with the best historical results in pre-university education, with a 99.6% pass rate. Contramaestre has consistently achieved outstanding results in scientific events and competitions at all levels. Doctors and nurses staff the municipality’s 113 Family Doctors’ Offices.

The energy matrix change is one of the areas where the most work has been done in the region, with the installation of five photovoltaic energy sites to pump water to five communities, including the town of Baire.

But without a doubt, the construction, assembly, and commissioning of the Las Guásimas solar farm, with a generating capacity of 21.8 megawatts, is the most significant project in this sector. It is an example of what can be achieved when advancing to higher levels in the pursuit of food sovereignty and sustainable development.
