Traveling exhibition dedicated to women´s federation in Contramaestre

Telling the history of the Federation of Cuban Women through images of its eleven congresses is the main objective of the traveling exhibition that has toured the country and that in its transit through eastern Cuba was received by the people of Contramaestre. A representation of Contramaestrian women gathered in the vicinity of the René Portocarrero art gallery in the city to inaugurate the traveling exhibition “Fidel, Raúl and the women’s revolution”.

The exhibition is a summary of the history of the Federation of Cuban Women through its eleven congresses in which the maximum leadership of the revolution has been present, as well as the guidance and example of the founding federate and honorary president of the organization, Vilma Espín Guillois.

The twelve vinyl gigantographies exhibited in the local cultural institution of Contramaestre are also a tribute to the Cuban women who are grateful for the social work that for sixty years has been built with the invaluable contribution of women.

Students, workers, housewives, women from all sectors were present at the inauguration of the exhibition that continues its tour to the province of Guantanamo and is part of the activities for the 65th anniversary of the women’s organization and the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Cuban women’s organization.
