Health authorities warn about the risk of arbovirosis in Contramaestre

In view of the increase in temperatures and rains, typical of the month of May, the health authorities of the municipality of Contramaestre, stress the need to diminish the risk of arbovirosis from homes and workplaces.

Rigoberto Fernández Gámez, deputy director of Hygiene and Epidemiology in the municipality, announced that the last week closed with a high infestation rate in the territory, which translates into an increase of the vector that transmits this type of diseases, among which dengue and zika stand out.

As for the fever cases, the executive pointed out that there was an increase of five, with respect to the previous week, totaling 23 in all. In this sense, America I and America II are the most affected health areas.

Fernandez Gamez also commented that the symptoms of the most common arbovirosis can be similar to some respiratory viruses that circulate in the territory, mainly in the first stage of the disease. In this way, he emphasized the importance of seeking early medical attention, in order to preserve life and receive a proper diagnosis.

In Contramaestre, the fight against the Aedes Aegypti and other vectors is a priority for public health personnel. In this endeavor, the responsible participation of the population is fundamental, since it guarantees the effectiveness of the measures adopted by doctors, epidemiologists and other specialists.
