Havana, May 14 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the double standards of the United States by once again including the island in the list of countries that do not cooperate against terrorism, a designation he described as “fraudulent.”
Through the social network X, Rodriguez pointed out that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio – known for lying to justify his measures against the Cuban people – ordered the reinclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that do not cooperate with U.S. anti-terrorist efforts.
The minister recalled that “in 2024, intelligence agencies of that country presented evidence to the contrary”.
Rodríguez also questioned that the U.S. government does not take measures against those who organize, finance and execute terrorist actions against Cuba with impunity from the northern nation.
The foreign minister reiterated that the double standards of the Washington government are “widely recognized” and described it as “the country of unilateral, arbitrary and fraudulent lists”.
He also suggested that Washington could create “a list of lying and corrupt politicians paid by special interests”.
With the decision taken this Tuesday, the new U.S. administration of Donald Trump reverses the measure adopted by his predecessor Joe Biden, who removed the island from the list last May 15, arguing that the circumstances for the certification of Cuba as a “total non-cooperating country” changed.
