The “Las Guásimas” solar park in the municipality of Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba, successfully synchronized its test phase to the National Electro-Energy System (SEN) on April 30, delivering about five megawatts of electricity at around 4:00 pm.
After a little more than four months of intense work in the construction and assembly of the installation, which has 42,588 photovoltaic panels, seven inverters and a generation capacity of 21.8 megawatts, this step has been reached, which is essential for the completion of the project.
According to declarations of the investor Bladimir Díaz Mora, this is the result of days and nights of intense work inside the perimeter, in which workers of six specialties have been working since December of last year with an investment of 1150 million pesos.
For the engineer Carlos Andrés Sánchez Ayón, specialist in charge of the start-up, this energy enclave is in technical conditions to make a stable contribution to the SEN in the next few days, thus contributing to the recovery of the national electric system.
The Las Guásimas solar park has become a shock work for the inhabitants of Contramaestre, who in successive mobilizations have contributed in the culmination of decisive work objects in the heating process and completion of test protocols for its inauguration and total start-up in the first days of this month of May.
