Contramaestre’s government to enhance its performance

Contramaestre's government to enhance its performance

The control over the productive and economic processes must become a daily and efficient act of each one of the members of the government structure in Cuban localities.

Contramaestre, a municipality with a broad, although not solid, production structure, urgently needs the members of its municipal assembly to more effectively assume popular control, especially in activities that define the destiny of the domestic economy.

These include, for example, the planting and marketing of food, grains and vegetables, the production of exportable items such as coffee, charcoal, nectars, essential oils, juices, and honey, to name but a few.

The attention of the district delegates should be kept on the use given to the scarce resources received in the territory, such as fuels and essential inputs for agricultural activity, the backbone of the Contramaestrian economy.

However, the delegates of the people’s power, as well as the norms approved by the Cuban government to promote the recovery of the nation, are notoriously lacking in knowledge of economic issues.

In successive work sessions, the leadership of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power of Contramaestre has addressed the issue, assuring that the solution to these pitfalls lies in the strategy of improving the local bodies of people’s power.

Accordingly, it is urgent to continue opening more spaces for grassroots participation, to effectively confront crime and crime, to achieve better communication management and to upgrade the training of district leaders.
