The Homeland that contemplates them is proud to know that in this feminine force there is an impressive army that grows with heroism, trained in sacrifice and external sieges.
In this piece of land, the protagonism of the Contramaestrian women is impressive, whose tenacity, firmness and effort, endorse the admiration and respect for this sex with a long history of intrepidity and altruism written with patriotic love.
In the soil that unites us, Cuban medicine treasures women like Dr. Luisa Pacheco, a celebrated professional who devoted her life to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases, to become a reference in the nation’s pediatrics with a brilliant career in the service of children.
The education sector in Contramaestre illustrates among its women the pedagogue Magalis Fajardo Dorado, who with her own identity and interests, intervened in the municipal education to legitimize and instruct the new man, after an inclusive learning that seeks the integral formation of the human being.
Agronomist Isabel Fuentes Toledano, the first woman to initiate the Urban Agriculture Program in Contramaestre, is an example of female empowerment, in terms of food production in downtown areas, under sustainable ecological agricultural principles.
Our town revives the pride of the Limontas sisters, multi-champions of Athletics, who in their time contributed their medals to later become coaches of this sport discipline, with palpable results in the formation of their athletes.
Milagros Sánchez Licea, illustrious daughter of the town of Baire, honors the land with her historiographic knowledge, enriching the local events that made new dawns of social justice, independence and sovereignty that exalted the revolutionary process.
Although she is no longer among us, because her soul rests in peace in another dimension, Edelis Blanco, dance instructor was one of the honorable ladies of Culture who knew how to teach her students in various styles and dance techniques, while leading for several consecutive years the union of men and women of the artistic sector of Contramaestre with significant results.
Respected among the women of the enclave is Deputy Mayitsi Del Toro Fonseca, who is a member of the National Assembly of People’s Power in Cuba, gaining participation in the spaces of political, economic, social and legislative discussion in the country. Dania Marzan Venero, representative of the local coffee activity, also prestiges us in the Central Committee.
To these virtuous women of our Contramaestre, the perpetual gratitude together with the kiss, the flower and the homage, whose invincible work shakes not only their trajectory but also the foundations of the Homeland.
