The Apiculture sector in Contramaestre needs a constant improvement of its personnel, working on the fulfillment of manuals and control cards to respond consistently to the demand for quality productions.
This was one of the conclusions of the most recent balance of the sector developed in this Santiago municipality, which was attended by Felix Cordero Alvarez, general director of Empresa Apícola Cubana.
In 2024 sales were higher than in the previous year, however, honey production decreased due to the failure to deliver the raw material.
Facing a challenging panorama in 2025, Contramaestre’s beekeeping workers must find alternatives to dynamize and diversify the products obtained in a plant that benefits the honey of five Cuban provinces.
