In the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre, the assembly and construction of a park for the generation of electric energy through solar panels is progressing. This photovoltaic site is part of the Cuban government’s efforts to increase the production of energy from renewable sources. The Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente de la O Levy arrived at this site.
The Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy, visited the site where the “Las Guásimas” solar park is being built in the municipality of Contramaestre in Santiago de Cuba, with a generating capacity of 21.8 megawatts.
In an exchange with workers and managers of the five companies belonging to the Ministry of Construction involved in the project, he learned about the progress of the work scheduled to be fully completed in May.
…de la O Levy called to intensify the actions without losing the quality of what is being done, always thinking ahead to the schedule, a strategy that must be characterized by the maximum use of the resources destined to the work.
Accompanied by the member of the Central Committee and first Secretary of the party in the province Beatriz Johnson Urrutia and Governor Manuel Falcón Hernández, he highlighted the substantial resources that have been allocated in the country to works such as these, essential in the change of the energy matrix and the gradual recovery of the electric service.
The Minister of Energy and Mines acknowledged the efforts of those involved in this project and was interested in their working conditions, the works of benefit to those who will assume the maintenance and future operation of the facility.
