An exemplary trial is held in Contramaestre

As established by the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and the Law of Criminal Procedure, due process and procedural guarantees were complied with in an exemplary trial held in the municipality of Contramaestre.

The accused, who was serving a sentence of deprivation of liberty without internment for the crime of robbery with force, which makes him a recidivist, received a sentence of one year and six months of deprivation of liberty.

In the processing of the case and during the oral trial, the procedural guarantees and respect for due process enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and in the Criminal Procedure Law were complied with.

As part of the National Exercise to confront crime, illegalities and social indiscipline, the People’s Court of this Santiago municipality heard the case filed for the crime of theft.

At the end of the session, the president of the People’s Court of Contramaestre, Misleydis Acosta, reflected on the importance of confronting anti-social manifestations of this kind that threaten the tranquility of the citizens and the internal order.
