At the Onelio Díaz Corría primary school in the municipality of Contramaestre in the province of Santiago de Cuba, work is being done to achieve the successful development of the educational teaching process in the recently initiated school year.
Darielmis Garcés, director of this center informs us about some of the activities that are carried out there and where the union between the institution, the family and the community is of vital importance.
This school year began on September 2 with an opening ceremony with the presence of members of the government, the Party, the community, the Association of Combatants, among others. A massive participation of parents, students, plus the teaching staff.
The school maintains the teaching coverage, we started with an enrollment of 170 boys and girls, from preschool to sixth grade, we started the work of social attention to the family in the community to guarantee from the first ages the work in the community with the children from 0 to 5 years old.
The school also had all the minimum resources necessary to carry out this school year, the material base was distributed according to an adjusted standard, which does not hinder the educational teaching process at all.
The school supplies were also distributed in the grades from First to Fourth, which was the first group of the improvement that is a new (BME), we call on the family to their contribution to prevent deterioration and that we can last for several courses.
In Second and Fifth, which represents the second group in which the improvement began, we are waiting for the new school supplies to be delivered, while we are working with the updated supplies we have. Initially, we held a parents’ school where different topics were addressed, mainly emphasizing compliance with hygienic-sanitary measures.
At the moment we are working on agreements with the different agents and agencies of the community to successfully guarantee the development of the different technical and social programs that also provide an outlet and complement our institutional curriculum and the outlet for the different activities with respect to the good practices of the Third Improvement.
Efforts are made to guarantee the food production of our small piece of land, in the cleaning and sowing to contribute to the Seminternado (semi-boarding school) or the Círculo Infantil Los Pinos Nuevos.
