The delegate's rendering of account to his electors began in Contramaestre

The process of accountability of the delegates of the People’s Power to their electors began in the municipality of Contramaestre, with the first of these exchanges with the population in the district of Baire.

Constituency 44 of the district of Baire had the first of a process in which 600 assemblies of accountability of the delegate to his electors will take place in the same number of areas between September 20 and November 8.

The delegate Yoel González explained the actions that have characterized his performance, aimed at managing the solution of the population’s concerns, through the administrative directions related to the services of Aguas Turquino, Comunales, Viales, Housing and Electricity

The first process of accountability of the delegate to his electors in the 18th Mandate Period of the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power will also serve to strengthen the support of the administrative and social organizations to the community, as well as to stimulate the neighbors and families with greater contributions to the social development in the district.

Accountability is one of the pillars of the Cuban democratic system and one of the most effective ways in which the people participate directly in the exercise of government.

In the accountability meetings, in addition to learning about, evaluating and expressing their opinion on the performance of the delegates, the voters can formulate proposals or point out problems and situations existing in their community.

The other formulas that include weekly dispatches and fortuitous meetings are appreciated by the electors, but they do not reach the dimension of the meetings because in these, in addition, the neighbors air their problems in a collective way, exercising as a mechanism of democratic and shared control, and the delegates are obliged to demonstrate skills and commitment, in favor of the collective welfare.
