The change of the energy matrix to renewable energies is one of the policies implemented by the country. Towards this goal, all sectors of Cuban society are currently implementing strategies that respond to the territorial characteristics and economic and productive interests of the country.
In the southeastern municipality of Contramaestre, several entities are already implementing this alternative. The Grain Drying and Processing Plant is one of the industries in the southeastern territory that is developing the study of renewable energies, in this case solar energy, with the objective of saving fuels and at the same time contributing to the national electro-energy system.
José Antonio Camejo Plutín, director of the Grain Processing and Drying Plant in the municipality of Contramaestre, said that a feasibility study has already been carried out in the industry to insert photovoltaic systems to generate energy during daylight hours and supply the energy consumption of the production and the surplus to contribute it to the national grid.
