An exchange with presidents of productive bases and directors of companies of the agricultural sector in Contramaestre took place recently at the municipal headquarters of the Party. The meeting was chaired by Yoelvis Suárez Zapata, secretary of the political organization in the territory and Tania Pérez Saumell, intendant.
During the meeting, all the productive indicators of each one of the structures were evaluated, as well as those problems that affect the fulfillment of the 60 pounds per capita demanded by the population of the eastern jurisdiction.
This task is part of the follow-up carried out by the municipality to the fulfillment of the food security and sovereignty plan implemented by the Caribbean nation and that the Contramaestre locality presents irregularities.
Among the topics discussed were the planting plan for the cold season, which is already in its final stage, results and deficiencies, and the current status of the meat and milk delivery plan.
In this regard, the presidents of the cooperatives involved in the subject, explained the causes of the non-compliance with the delivery of the demanded product to the commerce units, received today by children from six months to seven years of age.
On the other hand, the balance of the different companies in the agricultural sector in Contramaestre as well as their commitments were other topics discussed.
Authority in Contramaestre call for an increase in food production
The highest authorities of the Party and the government of the territory also called to continue supporting food production. To this end, the commitment of farmers to this essential task will ensure the food supply of the Contramaestrian people in the coming months.
To this end, a better work in the contracting of agricultural productions that covers from the real potentialities that each producer has in the different productive lines to the final destination of the goods will have an impact in reverting the current results of the productive yield in the municipality of Contramaestre.
Likewise, the insurance for the realization of the agricultural and livestock fair held on Saturdays on 11th Street of the Frank País distribution was also analyzed. Event in which the authorities of Contramaestre work to transform the image and requests of the population in terms of variety, quality and prices of agricultural products. Purposes that will be reached with the union of all the involved sectors, in one of the spaces that has greater concurrence on weekends in the city.
