Fidel, the ever-lasting head of a revolution

Fidel, Inspiration of our Homeland

No matter how much time has passed by, and seven years have been enough to know that time would not make us forget or disregard Fidel´s legacy. Santa Ifigenia cemetery keeps his bones, we keep his teachings, his guidance.

A four-meter high rock, from the Sierra Maestra where he fought, protects the Undefeated Cagüairan of a thousand battles. His death is not true, because his legacy leads to the road, to progress, to the right to continue being free.

Fidel is one of those men who has entered glory alive, one of those immortals who became a legend, an eternal light.

Fidel’s wisdom

With wise vision he prepared his farewell to approach his Santiago, to approach the walls of the Moncada, the mountains of Turquino, the revolts of the underground; to extend his hand to each Santiago de Cuba as a token of duty fulfilled.

From that grain of corn, sheltered by the greenery of the jasmine plants, coffee, ferns, mantles and the hairy chinas of the eastern mountains, Fidel is an icon of the world, soul of the nation, essence of Patriotism.

Up to that monolith that treasures his ashes, where people from all over Cuba and the planet flock; doves respect his greatness as an extension of the mystical halo that accompanied him throughout his life, as an expression of a man of peace, impeccable, deserving of white roses.

From the intimacy of the Altar of the Homeland, your Santiago salutes you, venerates you, because he continues to be life, being an immortal of deep traces; back to the present, he continues to be dawn, seed, example. Thank you Fidel for being the inspiration of our homeland.
