Repair and patching works in the section of the Carretera Central belonging to Contramaestre are currently being carried out by different brigades from Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba provinces.
A first patching action is being carried out by workers of the Unidad Empresarial de Base Viales of this Santiago municipality. The patching is carried out by a brigade from Guantánamo that has modern equipment to carry out the works quickly and with quality.
Representatives of the Unidad Empresarial de Base Viales commented:
“In this stretch in we are from Baire to Contramaestre it had been several years without repair, with a state of very great deterioration, it is a claim of the whole country because through here circulate cars of national interest.”
“The workers here are making an extraordinary effort given the high temperatures of the asphalt and the heat of these days, but we will not stop, there is good spirits and good attention is being given to these workers…”
“Right now what we are doing is a resurfacing to correct the profile and the pumping of the road, and later we will throw the bearing layer. We plan to go as far as the elevated road after the city of Contramaestre with which we will greatly improve the roadway of the urban part and the two entrances on the Carretera Central.”
These repair actions on the Carretera Central in the Contramaestre municipality section will considerably improve the state of the work and therefore the vehicular traffic. A purpose that is expected to be achieved in salute to the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
