Convinced of the need to “Continue Contributing to Development”, the membership of the Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba. ANEC of Contramaestre, concluded the grassroots assembly process, on the way to the Ninth Congress of this organization, scheduled for 2024.
In this eastern Cuban municipality, 41 assemblies were held, that is, the total number of those scheduled in the timetable, with an attendance of 95.3 percent of its membership.
In Contramaestre, the Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba with the materialization of these assemblies ratified 28 presidents by the associates of the same number of base sections, while 13 affiliates were renewed for the same position, also managing to promote 75.6 percent of women to serve as leaders in the aforementioned ANEC’s working body.
Among the main topics discussed in the heat of the meetings prior to the Ninth Congress of this organization, the proposals for actions from each of the 41 base sections to contribute to the implementation and advancement of the Economic and Social policy of the Party and the Revolution stand out.
ANEC in Contramaestre against corruption
In the presence of the analysis and debates framed in the assembly process, the economists and accountants of Contramaestre ratified their role to favor a reliable accounting, to be sustainable in the fight against the manifestations of corruption and to advise on credit and financial issues to the new state and private actors that dynamize the economy in the territory.
As one of the basic objectives of this process in which more than 500 ANEC associates in this part of the country were involved, the organization’s work strategy until 2024 was established, with which 19 proposals for actions were identified to contribute to the transformations demanded by the current national economic situation from the point of view of how much can be contributed from the local level with the use of endogenous resources and creative resistance.
Rafael Cala Machiran, president of the ANEC Executive Council of Contramaestre, said in reference to this process that “after its culmination in the grassroots sections, currently the organizing committee is engaged in preparations for the municipal assembly, to be held on December 16, 2023, adding that with the help of this membership we can make a better country.
