The productive chaining with the objective of defending the national industry is one of the purposes of the economic strategy implemented in Cuba. In this sense, the agrarian sector is developing several agro-industrial programs that have an impact on the financial impulse and the territorial autonomy.
In the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre, increasing exports and decreasing imports is one of the purposes of the agro-industrial sector.

“The coffee industry is moving on to an organic coffee project in the municipality. The studies are being carried out at the moment, it is intended that in January it will come into effect.”
On the other hand, he explained that “this organic coffee project benefits more than four hundred coffee usufructuaries there are in the municipality Contramaestre, who are going to get cash to be able to buy their inputs, as well as the citrus industry.”
