With the presence of Teresa Amarelle Boué, National Secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women, FMC, José Ángel Labrada Castillo, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Contramaestre, Elena Castillo Rodríguez, Secretary of the organization in Santiago de Cuba, Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power and Maité Villa Ortega, general secretary of the FMC here, the XI Congress of the Federation was held this Saturday in Contramaestre. Also present as guests were: Mayitsis Del Toro Fonseca, deputy to the National Assembly, other members of the municipal bureau of the party, government officials, cadres of political and mass organizations of the territory.
In the meeting, in which 174 delegates participated, representing the more than 39 thousand members of this municipality, the work of the organization during the last five years was evaluated and the work projections for the next stage were approved.
During the assembly, the delegates issued criteria on topics which were previously debated in the three commissions which met during the morning, among which were: food production, efficient use of energy, social prevention, internal functioning and cadre policy, with emphasis on the improvement and work with young women for their incorporation to leadership positions.
The Municipal Committee that will direct the work of the FMC in the next stage was also elected, where Maité Villa Ortega was ratified as general secretary, Iliana Jaureguis Lago, to attend to the organization and Mariluz Banítez Galán was promoted to attend to the ideological sphere. Five non-professional members were also approved: Laritza Brizuela López, Marialis Martínez Frómeta, Celia Laura Lemes García, Daivis Vázquez Del toro, Nathalie Duarte Alarcón and Yarisleikis Casanova Silva.
Through direct and open voting, the 25 delegates to the provincial assembly and the six pre-candidates to the XI Congress of the organization for this municipality were elected.
