In Contramaestre, testing a greater action with a view to strengthening the effectiveness of the system of People’s Power with and for the people, is a priority issue for the government body, in view of the challenges demanded by the path of municipal autonomy, an issue considered as a pending subject in several of the aspects that mark the local government’s work.
The purpose of perfecting this State management body requires, in this municipality in eastern Cuba, to gain ground in the work of the delegate, in the management of the People’s Power and in the level of trust in our political system. It is also necessary to put special emphasis, regardless of the limitations of resources, to achieve the fulfillment of economic and social plans, public policies, legal norms and projects for local development.
In the area of the work of the Popular Power, there are other issues that require recurrent attention such as: the promotion of greater and effective mechanisms of popular participation in neighborhoods and communities of this jurisdiction and the transformation of vulnerable communities through the leadership of the Municipal Assembly in close contact with its delegates and the population in general.
Contramaestre facing indiscipline
It is also necessary to develop a communication strategy that allows a greater exchange with the inhabitants of the 13 districts, as well as to confront and counteract the enemy’s subversive actions, based on doing things right, seeking to promote in all spaces a citizen behavior of order, discipline and exigency.
As part of the actions to be developed inn Contramaestre with a view to consolidating community activity, it is also necessary to update and give course to local development projects, strengthen revolutionary vigilance and combativeness, advance in the solution of the voters’ proposals that they classify as pending solution and rehabilitate dependencies linked to the provision of services to the people, among other purposes.
In Contramaestre, as in the whole Cuba, the People’s Power becomes a system for directing society and exercising government. In its more than four decades of creation, the people have increased their knowledge about the work of this State leadership body, and at the same time contribute to enrich and strengthen the work of government from the grassroots with active participation in the search for solutions to the problems of their community.
