Growing coffee in the plains was for the farmer Ramón Martínez Rosales one of his greatest dreams. His property was well known in the southeastern territory of Contramaestre for its high yields of fruit and other crops. Most of them obtained thanks to the implementation of agroecology. A movement of which he is part and in which he has achieved recognition among producers in this region of the country.
However, for Ramón, planting the precious cherry tree was one of the pending goals on his farm. It would take a few years for the farmer, with effort, knowledge, family support and a lot of enthusiasm, to achieve this goal.
Coffee for export
Today the Los Martinez farm is an example and a school for those who like him bet on the cultivation of coffee. An agricultural sector that currently needs a boost in production and commercialization both in the national and international markets.
