Havana, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel greeted participants in the 14th International Convention on Environment and Development, an event that brings together here from today until July 7 authorities of the G-77 and China.
In his Twitter profile, the Cuban leader welcomed the high authorities of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation of the countries of the integrating bloc that will discuss the crucial issue in favor of climate, environment and the promotion of sustainable development.
The event will enable closer cooperation on sustainable practices, inclusive economic growth and environmental protection, and at the same time will be an extraordinary opportunity for the future, said the president pro tempore of the group of 77 plus China.
The meeting will also be attended by researchers, authorities, educators, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs, professionals, producers and other people working for the sustainability of our planet, Cuban Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Elba Rosa Montoya, said on the social network.
Montoya also explained that the meeting will dedicate its days to sustainable, inclusive and resilient development, with more science and innovation for a healthy and balanced environment.
Founded in 1964 within the Non-Aligned Movement, the group faces enormous challenges to the development of its nations, which together represent 80 percent of the world’s population and more than two-thirds of the membership of the United Nations.
