The most authentic and identifying aspects that stand for the Cuban countryside were recently exhibited at the Festival of Peasant Traditions in the southeastern municipality of Contramaestre. The event was held at the Saturnino Lora Torres Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA), located in the rural community of La Anacahuita in the district of Pueblo Nuevo, one of the agricultural bases inserted in the development of the fruit trees program.
The activity was attended by members of the municipal bureau of the National Association of Farmers of the territory, cooperatives managers, farmers and neighbors of the community.
A festival to enjoy
For more than an hour, the farmers enjoyed a show that showed the most diverse customs and traditions that identify the Cuban countryside nationally and internationally. Dances, décimas, songs, games, typical dishes, the parade of the Brama flower, were some of the displays of the festival.
The Festival of Peasant Traditions in the Santiago municipality took place within the framework of the May 17 Day of the Peasant. This celebration was dedicated to the 62nd anniversary of the constitution of the farmer organization and the 65th anniversary of the Peasant Congress in Arms.
