Engineer Irka Raisa Flores Licea, head of the Maintenance Brigade of the Provincial Company for the Construction of Special Works and Road Maintenance in Contramaestre comments:
“We are potholing Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue with the laying of cold asphalt mix, an alternative that has been taken in substitution of the hot asphalt that is in deficit for our municipality.”
Roads repaired with local materials
One of the advantages of the resources used here is that, with the exception of the asphalt liquid, all the others are locally obtained. The quality of the work being carried out has been shown in practice.
“This material does meet the objective because it compacts well, it is very easy to work with, it humanizes the work with the operators.
From the early hours of the morning, this brigade starts their work. First they prepare the mixture, and with adapted equipment they move it to the streets selected as part of the image project.
Moreover, these 17 workers benefit from these alternatives that ensure them an average salary of six thousand pesos, while recovering the technical condition of important roads in the city of Contramaestre.
