In order to create, reflect and revitalize the Federation of High School Students (FEEM), the Assemblies of the Organization were held in Contramaestre at the center level, in the nine corresponding centers in the territory.
During the discussions in groups and centers, there were substantial proposals from the students, who based their concerns and proposals on short term solutions and attainable by themselves. The focus was on the recovery of the material basis of study, the lack of pencils, notebooks and paper, punctuality, the correct use of the school uniform and the strong and respectful singing of the National Anthem, among others.
On the eve of the FEEM National Assembly to be held next September, working guidelines for the next five years were also projected, which included the need for a student body with a deep desire to be dynamic, joyful and, above all, revolutionary. In addition, a useful and intelligent use of social networks and information technologies, the strengthening of group work, the role of young people in the defense of the nation and its ethical and moral values were also discussed.
In this assembly process, the candidates for delegates to the Municipal Assembly were elected, scheduled for April 28th, where the elected students will also discuss their concerns and propose how to improve the organization for the next five years.
The student meetings in Contramaestre were dedicated to the Cuban Revolution and its work, to its leader Fidel Castro, to the martyrs of the Homeland and to the first president of the FEEM, Jorge Aldereguía Hernández, known as Yoyo, who contributed to create the foundations of the student organization and consolidated its path.
