In Contramaestre, preparations for the national elections scheduled for March 26 continue at a good pace, with more than 1,800 electoral authorities of this eastern Cuban jurisdiction concentrating their efforts on the full compliance of each of the steps foreseen by the National Electoral Council, under the protection of Law 127, the Cuban Electoral Law.
In the opinion of Julio César García, who presides over the electoral body of Contramaestre, the interest of all the electoral entities and members of the auxiliary structures to make this event another exercise of authentic socialist democracy and to elect the three candidates for this territory to the National Parliament is of special value.
The president of the Electoral Council of this municipality also pointed out that in addition to the completion of the electoral authorities, including those leading the two special commissions, the 270 polling stations and their respective polling stations, they received the required training on the voting system to be used in the national elections.
Readiness for national elections
In Contramaestre, the validation of the requirements to be candidates for the Cuban Parliament was carried out, the list of voters was updated with the house to house visits, being expedited the publication of this document and the biographical summaries and photos of the three candidates for this territory are shown in 292 scenarios of wide popular concurrence, at the rate of one for every 30 thousand inhabitants, as provided by the Cuban Electoral Law, ruling National Elections.
In the course of this week, the candidates will continue their program of tours of communities and centers of the economy, production and services as well as their contacts and exchanges with the population, where the characteristics of Cuba’s electoral system are explained, the problems of each place are directly known and possible ways of solutions are identified without any kind of promises, a feature that distinguishes the political system of the nation, in which transparency and the virtues of the future parliamentarians are paramount.
