In Contramaestre, a jurisdiction in the south of the province of Santiago de Cuba, the organizational process for the national elections scheduled for March 26 continues at a good pace, with the Municipal Electoral Council confirming that the territory will have two special electoral commissions covering the 161 districts of the local geography for that day.
These electoral structures will interact to ensure the agility of the information demanded by this event, aimed at electing and filling the positions of the Cuban Parliament for a new Legislature, which this time will have 470 deputies.
During these days, special interest is being given to the rectification of the voters’ lists in order to guarantee their publication in the 268 polling stations that will be set up for the national elections in this territory, which has more than 79 thousand voters.
Contramaestre 2 special polling stations
In Contramaestre, two special polling stations will be set up at the bus terminal and at the General Hospital “Orlando Pantoja Tamayo”, so that all citizens with legal capacity to vote can exercise this constitutional right.
Dayron Soria Fajardo, secretary of the Municipal Electoral Council emphasized that in Contramaestre, as in the rest of the country’s territories, on Sunday, March 19, the dynamic test will take place, an exercise that will make it possible to correct the details in the field of insurance that may be present, and leave everything ready for voting day.
National elections are held every 5 years, where deputies are elected, the National Assembly of People’s Power is constituted, the president, vice president, secretary and other members of the Council of State are elected, as well as the president and vice president of the Republic.
