Intercropping and animal traction in Laguna Blanca's agricultural activities

Intercropping characterizes agricultural activity in the productive center of Laguna Blanca, in the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre, where there is a constant struggle against weeds basically through animal traction.

Producers of the El Ruiseñor Business Unit are enthusiastically joining initiatives such as intercropping, with the aim of making better use of the land and multiplying their production.

The rains of the last few weeks have prevented further progress in the cleaning, but it is clear that no one here has been defeated by nature or the lack of material resources.

Crops based on three constants

The intercropping, the use of animal traction and cultural attention to the plantations, are a constant in the work of the farmers of El Ruiseñor in the productive pole of Laguna Blanca.

In this harvest alone, this producer made a profit of 160,000 pesos. Results like these encourage them to apply for more land. To do so, they rely on alternatives such as animal traction.
