The 26th of July was the reason for the call to the act that was arriving to every work center and neighborhood of the city. As usual hundreds of Contramaestre residents crowded the central square of the city.
There was a mixture of new generations and older people, workers and students, people who have seen decades of struggles and resistance and others who have accepted the challenge of defending social conquests.
Rally in Contramaestre for July 26th
Some incredulously wondered where so much creative resistance came from. They do not realize the revolutionary nature of Cubans. That is the wood of which the young people who received in this act the card that accredits them as new militants of the Young Communist League are made of.
During the July 26th ceremony, members of the Federation of Cuban Women were also recognized for their contribution to the fulfillment of the organization’s tasks. Without them it would not be more worthy to defend the work we built together.
The ceremony for the anniversary of Moncada in Contramaestre was presided over by Yudelkis Ortiz Barceló, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and José Angel Labrada Castillo, first secretary in this territory, who expressed his conviction that we will be able to overcome all adversities because we are right and just.
