Laguna Blanca, district belonging to the Contramaestre Municipality, Santiago de Cuba Province.
The settlement is located to the North of Contramaestre municipal head, 32 km away from it. Starting from the North end of the settlement, it limits with San German (municipality of Holguin), to the South it limits with the Popular Council Xavier-Los Pasos, to the East it limits with Palma, to the West it limits with the Popular Council La Venta de Casanova.
It has a total population of 7372 inhabitants divided in 93 CDR. It does not have a service structure. Infrastructure is connected to the National Electric System (SEN). The roads are in poor condition.

The water supply system is by well and river using pipes, tractors and animal transport.
The fundamental line is the company of Various Crops that is in charge of supplying the entire province of Santiago de Cuba.
It has the largest Viandero Plan in the Province of Santiago de Cuba, which supplies the municipality of Santiago de Cuba, Contramaestre and others.
It has a medical center that provides different services of laboratory, stomatology, general practitioners and in the week the specialists make consultations to the people of this community on previously announced days, and 6 doctor’s offices in all the width and length of the town council.
In the traditions of the area we have a domino game, as well as the tradition of playing guitar with a good drink of aguardiente and telling stories while roasting male animals or cooking a ram. Different commemorative activities are developed such as September 28th the CDR festivities, May 17th in commemoration of the Cuban peasants’ day, December 31st celebrating with roast pork on a spike, a tradition of the Cuban peasantry.
