Maffo cemetery welcome a representation of the people of Contramaestre after the peregrination in honor to Operación Tributo which took place on December 7, 1989 and Antonio Maceo who died on the same day but in 1896.
Contramaestrians will always recall its martyrs, as they during the peregrination and the ceremony at Maffo cemetery where those who died while in internatiolist missions.
An allusion to Fidel Castro´s words on Operación Tributo when it took place were was made during the ceremony.
¨These men and women to whom today we give honorable burial in the warm land where they were born, died for the most sacred values of our history and our Revolution… We will know how to be able to follow their example! To them: Eternal Glory!
